El Maestro, named in honor of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, is in the process of raising funds to buy the building that they have been operating out of for the past 20 years. In the face of displacement, perpetually increasing living expenses, and small businesses constantly being pushed out for commercial spaces owned by corporations, purchasing this building will ensure that El Maestro thrives for generations to come.

In this workshop Uptown Vinyl Supreme focused on using music as a form of healing. The workshop contained reiki and aroma therapy, a brief description of vinyl and the quality of sound it vibrates versus digital, and a open discussion on music that has helped healed participants in certain parts of their lives.

In the Summer of 2017 we launched our first Hip-Hop Summer School program in collaboration with the Kingsbridge Community Center. The program was a 6 week youth-based curriculum focusing on the 4 elements of Hip Hop (DJ, MC, Breakdance + Graffiti).
